Coulson joins Axemen defence for 2025 season
Defensive back Ryan Coulson has committed to the Acadia Axemen football program for the upcoming season.
Coulson, a 6'4, 180-pound Ottawa native, joins the Axemen after an impressive high school and club career. At St. Francis Xavier High School, he was a two-time OHSF First Team All-City selection and served as team captain. He was also named Defensive MVP in the 2024 All-Star Game.
Coulson previously played for the Gloucester South Raiders in the NCAFA, where he was a team MVP, all-star, and defensive first-year player of the year. In the OSFL, he suited up for the Cornwall Wildcats, earning Defensive First-Year MVP honours in 2024.
At the provincial level, Coulson competed for Team Ontario in 2023. His most recent season saw him record 39 total tackles, nine pass breakups, one interception, four tackles for loss, and two sacks.
“I knew Acadia was the place for me as soon as I stepped on campus in Wolfville,” said Coulson. “I am excited to join Coach Cummins and make a difference for this great football program.”
Coulson will pursue a degree in kinesiology at Acadia.
