Acadia has added place kicker Joey Stadnyk to their 2024 recruitment class.
Hailing form Calgary, the 5’8, 155-pound kicker joins the Axemen from Ernest Manning High School.
“Joey is coming off a provincial championship season at Ernest Manning, like other recent commits here to Acadia, Kaysar Montiero and Caleb Wright, whom all played for former Axeman Garth Melrose. Joey is a very good place kicker and a formidable punter and we are ecstatic to have such a talented specialist coming to Acadia to put points on the board,” said Acadia head coach Jeff Cummins.
With Ernest Manning he was a league all-star last season, making all field goals during their season. He was a provincial champion, three-time city champion and had two successful onside kicks in provincial and city championship games. Over his senior season he scored 66 points from kicks.
With the Wildcats, his spring football team, he was also a 2023 city champion.
Stadnyk will be working towards a business degree while attending Acadia.
