Axemen finish season with 15-5 record
SYDNEY, NS - The Cape Breton University CAPERS dropped their last game of the season against a talented Acadia Axemen team to a score of 105-79.
 
For the CAPERS, 
Kyle Hankins (Burlington, ON) ended his Cape Breton CAPERS career with a team-high 19 points and 8 rebounds. Eric Nissen (Quispamsis, NB) poured in 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the victorious Axemen. 
 
Turning point - Acadia came out of the gates red hot. They outscored the home squad 23-14 in the first quarter and then 28-14 in the second quarter. Nissen had 15 points for Acadia by halftime. 
 
Individual Leaders 
● Kyle Hankins finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal in 32
minutes of playing time. 
● Paul Watson (Mississauga, ON) put up 18 points for the CAPERS, 
● Eric Nissen had a double-double for the Axemen on 9-15 shooting. 
Nick De Palma (Bedford, NS) also had a great game for Acadia, scoring 22 
points on an efficient 8-13 from the field. He was also 50% from beyond the arc.

The Axemen finish their regular season with an impressive 15-5 record going into the 
Subway AUS Championship weekend. 
The CAPERS end their season with a record of 2-18.

Axemen will wait for the results of Saturday night's games to determine if they finish in second place (if StFX beats UNB) or third place.
