The game was a tightly contested battle throughout. Acadia built an early lead in the first half, powered by Ryan Regault's three-pointer and a series of layups that gave the Axemen an eight-point advantage midway through the opening quarter. Memorial closed the gap by capitalizing on free throws, and the Axemen held a narrow 23-21 lead after one quarter.
In the second quarter, Munro and Cox paced the Axemen offensively, helping them maintain a slight edge with consistent scoring. Memorial's Flynn Boardman-Raffet kept the home team close, and a late three-pointer by Wyatt Vanhooren pulled Memorial within striking distance. Acadia led 62-61 at halftime.
The second half saw multiple lead changes as the teams battled down the stretch. Munro hit crucial free throws to extend Acadia's lead to 68-63 early in the final quarter, but Memorial surged back with key plays from Norm Burry, whose three-pointer and consistent free-throw shooting proved pivotal. Acadia rallied late, with Davignon sinking three free throws to narrow the gap, but Memorial sealed the win with strong play in the closing moments.
