MONCTON, N.B. — The Moncton Aigles Bleus defeated Acadia 5-4 in a closely contested game Saturday night.
The game was a back-and-forth affair, showcasing strong offensive play from both teams. Moncton struck first in the opening period with a power-play goal by Jeremy Lapointe, assisted by Jérémy Michel and Jacob Dion.
Acadia responded in the second period with goals from Brendan Sellan and Orlando Mainolfi, but Moncton held its lead thanks to markers from Nathael Roy and Jérémy Michel.
The teams traded goals in the third period, with Brendan Mairs and Marc Boudreau scoring for Acadia, while Michael Horth and Charles-Edouard Drouin answered for Moncton.
Jérémy Michel, Jeremy Lapointe, and Charlie Desroches were named the game's three stars for their standout performances.
The Axemen will wrap up their 2024 season on Wednesday when they host Saint Mary's at home.
