WOLFVILLE — UNB and Acadia played to a 4-4 draw in Atlantic University Sport men's soccer on Friday at Raymond Field.
UNB's Luke Rosettani (Ottawa, ON) had a standout performance, scoring twice and assisting on another goal, earning him player of the game honours for his team. UNB took an early lead with goals from Rosettani and Stefano D'Ambrogio (Toronto, ON).
Acadia responded with a goal from Oscar Marshall (Lake Loon, NS) in the 28th minute.
Rosettani and Jackson Purbs (Welland, ON) each scored in the opening half to make it 4-1 REDS before Marshall's second of the match in added time. His efforts earned him player of the game for Acadia.
Max Rogers (Weston, NS) and Michael O'Flynn (North Vancouver, BC) scored in the second half to level the score. O'Flynn's goal came in added time on a penalty kick to complete the comeback.
The physical nature of the match was evident, with several yellow cards handed out. UNB controlled much of the match, registering 22 shots compared to Acadia's 15.
The draw leaves UNB with a 2-4-2 record, while Acadia sits at 1-4-3.
Acadia heads to Charlottetown on Sunday to face the UPEI Panthers, while UNB heads to Halifax to battle the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday night.
