Martin Vlk played throughout his youth at professional academies in the Czech Republic. He played at university in Prague and at St FX, and four years professionally in the Czeck Republic.

Vlk previously was Associate Head Coach of St FX and Technical Director of a club in the Czech Republic. He is currently Regional Technical Director of Valley District Soccer Association and plays for and co-coaches Valley United in the Nova Scotia Soccer League. Vlk  has the UEFA A license.
