AUS Championship peppered with personal bests & medals

ST. JOHN'S, NL - Results from the AUS championship weekend at Memorial have been favourable for an impressive group of swimmers representing a reasonably new swim program. Day one was peppered with personal bests and medal winners.

Highlights include a gold medal win by former Wolfville Tritons Swimmer Kristen MacPherson who won gold in the 50m backstroke and qualified for the CIS championships in two weeks time. MacPherson will join Hayden Adams and Luc Boudreau who both qualified earlier this season. MacPherson posted a third place in today's morning heats in the 100m backstroke.

Senior swimmer Eliza MacGuire grabbed a silver win in the 100m Fly in a personal best fashion.

Luc Boudreau captured gold in the 100m breaststroke and teammate Justin Leblanc finished second with a silver best time. Collin Reynolds will bring home a bronze in the 400m Individual Medley.

Head coach Chris Stone is happy with the results so far and looks forward to the remaining results. "Overall the meet is going well, and the swimmers are excited and swimming fast.
