Triton's Stokesbury-Price commits to Axemen swim team

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Acadia University and Acadia Athletics are pleased to announce the commitment of Bo Stokesbury-Price to the Axemen swim team beginning in the fall of 2021.

From West Brooklyn, N.S., Stokesbury-Price will graduate from Horton High School this coming June. Stokesbury-Price is enrolled in Acadia's Bachelor of Science program – majoring in Biology. He has achieved Honours or Honours with Distinction each year at Horton High School.

"I chose Acadia because of the great biology program, and the incredible supportive and competitive atmosphere of the swim team," said Stokesbury-Price.

A member of the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club, Stokesbury-Price was recognized as the FINA Top Overall Male Swimmer at the 2020 David Fry Championships.

With the Tritons, Stokesbury-Price has been named the club's Top Male Swimmer every season except one year since 2014-15 when he was named the Top Male Swimmer of 12 years and younger. He was honoured as the Ingham Award winner as the Top 14 year old in 2015-16 and he named as the Top Male swimmer of the Club for 13 years and older since the 2017-18 season.

Stokesbury-Price was a member of Team Nova Scotia's Canada Games team in 2017 and a member of Team Nova Scotia at the Mel Zajac Junior International Meet in 2018-19. Stokesbury-Price has also been a participant in the Swim Nova Scotia Next Gen Performance program for multiple years.

"Bo is one of the hardest working swimmers I have ever worked with, striving for excellence in every set and race thrown at him. Whether it is short term, long term, small, or large, Bo takes every challenge and goal head on. He will make an excellent addition to what is already a very strong Acadia swim team," said Wolfville Tritons' head coach Hayden Adams.

Stokesbury-Price has seen great success in sprint, mid-distance and long-distance freestyle and holds 20 Wolfville Tritons Club records.

Former Acadia swimmer and now an interim coach, Guy Harrison-Murray is thrilled to have Stokesbury-Price join the defending AUS men's champions. "We are very excited to have Bo. He has a huge amount of potential and he has been making significant strides already this year. Being a local swimmer is also a massive bonus. The Wolfville Tritons have a great history of providing Acadia with some top swimmers, so hopefully this can be a tradition that continues for a long time"

The Acadia swim team recently participated in virtual swim meet that included several AUS member teams. They hope to take part in the 2021 University Swimming Challenge, a new national competition held virtually in partnership with Swimming Canada and organized by U SPORTS member programs, to run between February 27 and April 4 across the country.
