Acadia Swimming concludes U SPORTS championship on Day 3 in Victoria

VICTORIA, B.C. - Day 3 of the U SPORT Championships in Victoria, B.C. had some standout swims for Acadia. 

The morning session started off with Elisabeth Morrison in the 200m breaststroke. Morrison placed 41st overall with a time of 2:44.72. Ella Collins swam the 200m breast for the second time in the C final that evening, moving up a spot and placing 18th overall with a time of 2:41.09. On the Axemen's side, Gordon Shortt had a great morning swim and placed 42nd overall. 

Sophie Rooney represented the Axewomen in the 200m backstroke, narrowly missing the A final cut-off for that evening. In the B final, Rooney swam a 2:18.77, which would have put her in 6th place overall. Rooney finished 10th overall. Dean Sangster qualified for the C final in the 200m back and finished with a time of 2:13.05 in 22nd place. 

The Axewomen 4x100m freestyle relay (Collins, Morrison, Rooney, and Grace Earle) finished 17th overall with a time of 4:06.77, while the men's team (Sangster, Kenny, Shortt, and Bo Stokesbury-Price) came in 10th place with a time of 3:32.27. This meet caps off another successful year for Acadia Swimming!
