The Axemen swim program continues to build towards next season with the commitment of Angus Charland for the 2024-25 season.

A member of the Greater Ottawa Kingfish, he comes to Acadia from Ottawa, Ont. Charland is a short to long distance freestyle swimmer.

“I'm really excited to join a team where there's a strong sense of community and I'm looking forward to being pushed by my teammates to become the best version of myself in the pool.”

His recent accomplishments with the Kingfish have been significant, making the podium in all individual events at the 2024 Winter Ontario Youth Junior Championships and qualifying for the 2024 Ontario Swimming Championships. Charland is also ranked in the top 15 in several events in his club’s history and is aiming to qualify for the junior Olympic trials for the 2024 season.

He will be working towards a biology degree while attending Acadia.
