Daughter of Jill Tasker and Gil Ross, Katie was awarded Most Valuable Player for the Varsity Women’s Soccer and Basketball Programs at the Halifax Grammar School. In addition, she was named Female Athlete of the Year and NSSAF Award Recipient for Participation and Sportsmanship in High School Athletics in 2013. Katie was a member of NTC-Atlantic for 3 years.
In 2013, she captained the Nova Scotia Canada Games Women’s Soccer team and in 2014 she was the captain of the Dartmouth United Senior Women. During her freshman year, she scored six goals in 13 games for the Axewomen. Furthermore, she was named an AUS Second Team All-Star (midfield), Academic All-Canadian, and was a Dean’s List Member for Acadia Kinesiology.
During her time at Acadia, she has volunteered for the Junior Axewomen Basketball Program, CIBC Relay for Life, and Acadia Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Katie is also a member of the Acadia Women’s Basketball team and her left foot is one full size bigger than her right foot.
