HALIFAX — Acadia cruised to a 7-1 victory over Saint Mary's in AUS women's soccer action on Thursday night.
Brenna Kennedy opened the scoring for Acadia (4-1-1) in the 21st minute, with Abbey Aucoin adding two more goals before a Saint Mary's own goal extended the lead to 4-0.
Saint Mary's (2-4-1) got on the board before halftime with a goal from Cara Freeman, assisted by Sarah Eden, making it 4-1 at the break.
In the second half, Acadia continued to dominate, with goals from Alli Kelly, Marin Aucoin, and Jamie Verhun sealing the win.
Aucoin led Acadia's offence with two goals and an assist. The Axewomen's strong defence held Saint Mary's to just one goal, despite the Huskies registering 12 shots.
Acadia wiill now return home to host StFX on Sunday afternoon at Raymond Field at 1 p.m.
