WOLFVILLE - Acadia University is proud to announce the addition of Riley Bonadie to the Axewomen soccer team for the 2024-25 season.
Bonadie, a talented centre forward/attacking midfielder from Ottawa, brings an impressive track record of success.
A standout athlete, she began her journey with the Ottawa TFC, where she played from 2008 to 2022. Her time with Ottawa TFC was marked by significant achievements, including winning the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) 2021 league championship with an undefeated record and the OPDL 2021 Charity Shield. In 2019, Riley led her team to victory in the U17 Toyota Canadian National Championships and the U17 Ontario Cup, showcasing her ability to perform on the national stage.
“Riley is an imposing player with a great touch who links up really well with the players around her,” said women’s soccer head coach Amit Batra. “She can finish given half a chance and will cause opponents problems. She has a mature outlook and will fit exactly what we're looking for in the locker room and within our team.”
Her high school career at St. Peter Catholic High School was equally impressive. Bonadie played a crucial role in the senior girls AAA soccer team winning the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA) championship in 2022 and representing Ottawa at the 2019 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) championship, where the team placed third overall in the province.
She continued her soccer career at Louisiana Tech University, competing in Conference USA from 2022 to 2024. Her time at Louisiana Tech further honed her skills and prepared her for the next step in her athletic journey.
"I’m excited to transfer to a positive team environment and contribute to a winning culture. I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for Acadia," said Bonadie.
The Axewomen soccer program is excited to welcome Bonadie as she works towards a sociology degree.
