Head Coach Michelle Wood was happy with the weekend, noting that in the win over UNB, communication and attention to the game plan aided in the team's win against the V-Reds.

"As the weeks go on the girls are becoming more familiar with one another and are now in a position where they can trust each athlete to take care of their own responsibility. There is a very positive dynamic amongst our team with the way they share information and support one another on and off the court", noted Wood.

"In our competition experiences we have seen growth with the effectiveness of our serve – putting the opponent in a difficult position and with our pursuit on defense, giving every ball an opportunity. I'm very pleased with where our group is at, however because I know what they are capable of, I will continue to push to get more out of them".

The Axewomen finish off their exhibition season with a scrimmage against the defending AUS Champion Dalhousie Tigers on October 15 and then open up at home on Friday, Oct 25 against Dalhousie starting at 7:00 pm.
