Axewomen improve to 3-9 with 3-1 win over Capers

SYDNEY, N.S. - The Cape Breton Capers women's volleyball team continue to look for their first win of the season after dropping a four set decision to the visiting Acadia Axewomen Saturday at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.

Acadia (3-9) rallied back from a 25-23 first set loss to take the next three sets 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 over the Capers (0-10).

Sarah Ross led the Axewomen with 15 kills while Jazmin Prest added 11 kills for the winners, ehilr Olivia Boudreault finished with 30 assists for Acadia.

Sarah Jane Ferguson with 12 kills and Janette Simmonds with nine kills were tops for the Capers.
Allana Rendell had 31 assists for CBU.

The Capers return to action Sunday when they host the Dalhousie Tigers in a 2 p.m. start while Acadia will be off until next Saturday when they play host to the University of New Brunswick.
