Volleyball Axewomen sweep weekend in Moncton with 3-1 win

MONCTON, N.B. - The Acadia Axewomen and Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues battled for every point, but in the end, the visiting team from Nova Scotia came out on top 3-1 in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball game played Saturday at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud. 

The Blue and Gold fell 3-1 for the second time in as many days against the same team. Acadia won by scores of 27-25, 23-25, 25-17 and 25-22.  

Lucy Glen-Carter led the offensive with 16 kills and 18 digs for Acadia. Jamie Crocket added 11 kills et Becky Dorsey, 22 digs. Joanie Arsenault registered 12 kills and 11 digs for Moncton. Pascale Doiron had 10 kills and 12 digs and Télia Gaudet, 22 digs. 

The Aigles Bleues travel to St John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, this weekend for a three-game series against the Memorial University Sea-Hawks. The Axewomen return home to host the UNB Reds this coming Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
