Axewomen finish 4th overall in first meet

HALIFAX, N.S. - The Axewomen cross country team began the 2015 season at the first AUS Invitational meet of the season in Halifax hosted by Saint Mary's and Dalhousie. The event, the first on the list of four AUS sanctioned cross country events, was run at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax.

Acadia's third year runner Sarah Drisdelle posted the best race time for the Axewomen with a 34th place finish with a time of 21:12:00. Chrissy Smith finished 39th. The team finished fourth overall amongst six teams at the first AUS meet.

Dalhousie's Colleen Wilson finished first in the five kilometer race with a time of 18:31:00, while the Tigers finished first overall.

Acadia will head to Antigonish this weekend for the second of four meets as StFX hosts the Invitational.
