Acadia finish 4th, Stefanovich-Thomson leads Axewomen

ANTIGONISH, N.S. - With one of the smallest teams in recent memory, the Axewomen cross country team finished 4th overall in the AUS's opening meet of the season held at StFX.

In the women's race, StFX's Siona Chisholm crossed the line in a time of 24:13. She was followed by Paige Chisholm (Port Williams, NS) of the UPEI Panthers at 24:50. 

First year Axewoman Ava Stefanovich-Thomson was the top runner for the Axewomen, finishing 10th overall among 61 women runners. Veteran runner Sarah Lavalee finished 2 seconds behind Stefanovich-Thomson in 11th place.

In team results, the Axewomen were 2 tenths of a second from UNB in total team time and seven points in the final standings. Final Results

The Axewomen host the AUS men's and women's second meet of the season on Saturday, October 2 at Hennigar's Farm in Greenwich, NS.
