Elizabeth Iseyemi, Basketball
This past weekend the seventh-seeded Acadia women's basketball team completed the U SPORTS national women's basketball championship final 8 with a consolation final win over the Calgary Dinos to finish fifth overall in the eight-team tournament. In her third season with the Axewomen, Elizabeth Iseyemi was named the Player of the Game in Acadia's quarterfinal loss to Alberta and their consolation final win over Calgary. From Dartmouth, N.S., Iseyemi averaged 13.7 points in three games. In Acadia's quarterfinal game against Alberta, Iseyemi had a team-high 14 points and added 5 rebounds and 4 steals to be named the Player of the Game. In the Axewomen's win over UQAM, Elizabeth had 11 points, seven rebounds, and one steal. Iseyemi posted a game-high 16 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and one steal to be named the Player of the Game in their second win of the tournament.
