WOLFVILLE - UNB secured a 3-2 victory over Acadia in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action on Friday night in front of 390 fans at Raymond Field.
UNB took an early lead in the first half with goals from Jillian Larose and Jillian Curtis, followed by a third goal from Carolina Grzesniak. Acadia fought back in the second half with two goals from Lauren Clarke, but it wasn't enough to overcome UNB's advantage.
UNB goalkeeper Breanna Habinski delivered an outstanding performance, making nine saves and earning player of the game honours for her team. Acadia's Milena Ramirez made two saves. Acadia's Brenna Kennedy was named player of the game for her side.
The match saw a total of 36 shots between the two teams.
The win improves UNB's record to 7-1-0, while Acadia falls to 4-2-2. Despite Acadia's second-half efforts, UNB's early lead proved decisive.
