Clarke joins Axewomen soccer 2025 recruitment class
The Acadia Axewomen soccer team has added Halifax midfielder Emily Clarke to its 2025-26 roster.
Clarke, a 5’9 midfielder, has excelled during her time playing club soccer in Nova Scotia. She helped lead the U17 AAA Halifax County team to a league title and a bronze medal at the 2024 U17 Canadian National Championship. She also won gold at the U15 Atlantics with the Nova Scotia provincial team and has been a member of the provincial and NS Rex teams since she was 13.
“Emily brings a high degree of compete and athleticism to the midfield position,” said Axewomen head coach Amit Batra. “Her ability to drive into the opposition’s penalty area, win balls and make good passing decisions will not only cause problems for opponents but will bring added energy and create goal-scoring opportunities from quick transitions through her work rate. I think Emily is going to bring that same energy to the locker room, and we are lucky to have her.”
Clarke, who will enrol in Acadia’s business program, said she is looking forward to the opportunity.
“I’m excited to continue my playing career with such a strong soccer program so close to home,” she said. “I’m thrilled to keep my soccer career going and to be part of a new team with really skilled players.”
Clarke’s work rate and dynamic style are expected to make her a key addition to the Axewomen next fall.
