WOLFVILLE – Acadia University's Department of Athletics celebrated the 2023-24 season on Wednesday night at the annual Fred G. Kelly Awards Night, hosted in Andrew H. McCain Arena.
HAMILTON (U SPORTS) – Akash Grewal tallied 13 kills for an impressive .579 percentage in the UBC Thunderbirds’ dominant 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-21) win over the Acadia Axewomen on Saturday in their semifinal match at the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship in Burridge Gymnasium. UBC will look to defend its national title on Sunday.
HAMILTON (U SPORTS) – Light Uchechukwu tallied a team-high 11 kills to lead the No. 1-seed Manitoba Bisons to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-17) victory over the No. 6 Acadia Axewomen in the bronze medal match of the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship at Burridge Gymnasium on Sunday. Uchechukwu recorded a .333 hitting percentage on 24 total attacks while adding six digs and one solo block.
HAMILTON – Acadia women’s volleyball head coach Michelle Wood has been named the Marilyn Pomfret Award recipient for 2024 as the U SPORTS women’s volleyball coach of the year.
WOLFVILLE – Following a first-place finish in the AUS, the Acadia Axewomen volleyball team have received four all-star awards, an all-rookie nod and one major award as Michelle Wood was recognized as the AUS coach of the year on Wednesday.

HALIFAX - In a match of top seeds at the Homburg Centre on Friday night, the Saint Mary's Huskies (8-3) triumphed over the Acadia Axewomen (8-3) in a 3-1 victory, setting the stage for a compelling home-and-home series. The Huskies, spurred by a standout performance from left side Olivia Bell, emerged victorious with 20 kills on 47 attempts and a stellar defensive display, earning her the player-of-the-game accolade.
